I had a reply half-typed up on my iPad when it ran out of batteries :(
Oh, when I saw this prompt, I knew I wanted to claim it. My parents have taken me to so many places throughout Europe that I felt adequately prepared to take a crack at it. I figured that if all else failed, at least I could bank on my own experiences to give the story some color. I've only been to Norway once for a week, but I hope that I managed to convey the beauty and majesty of that country.
Gosh, I'm so glad to hear you think I have a fresh take on them, but I don't think that's the case exactly lol. I've read so many fics in the short time I've been interested in this fandom (I think I found it in August??) and I have to say, there were some fics I read that were so outstanding, and they probably played a huge role in developing the way I view (and subsequently write) EXO. With my fic itself, I made so many mistakes and compromises throughout the writing process that I don't think I ever fully realized the vision I had for it. I would have asked for an extension, but I was having some family drama at the time, so I didn't think it would have accomplished much.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, that's all I want to accomplish as a writer, really. I used to be a stiff writer (and I think I still am, but only to an extent now.) This story took me out of my comfort zone by having me write humor and humorous situations (and in the fandoms I was in before, humor isn't exactly a chief priority.) I think I relaxed myself to a a degree, as far as realism and character development goes, but I hope it doesn't overly detract from the story itself.
Kaisoo was very enjoyable to write, and I'm participating in 7 fic fests, so I'll definitely be writing some more of them in the future. I hope I do them justice in those fics :X
